Initially released in September 1992, Contaminant PCB was the debut album from Contagion. Tracks include: We Believe, Ingest, Who Are You, Scratch, Fight!, Agress, Contagion7. Side Notes: Contaminant PCB is Contagion's debut release. The disc's original title [Contaminate] and artwork [created by Steven R. Gilmore] were changed less than four weeks before production, due to a threatened legal injunction against the band's original name [Biohazard PCB]. The cover design was modified, however the prominent "PCB" kept its mark, both on the cover and the album's title. Recording on Contaminant PCB officially began April 27,
1992, days prior to the Los Angeles Riots. Contaminant PCB was contracted by
World Domination Records / Capitol Records in 1991 as a 4 song EP. The group,
eager to release additional material, included several tracks from older
never commercially released recordings. Fight!,
written in 1989, was recorded in May 1990 for an unreleased BIOHAZARD PCB
record entitled "ISOLATION".
INGEST, written in 1990, was
initially tracked in 1991 for a limited self release, "INFECTIOUS".
[The album mixes feature edits from this recording as well as additional
tracks]. CONTAGION7 - an
student engineering project - was produced and recorded 1990. Recording was interrupted on May 1st, 1992 due to the
outbreak of the L.A. riots. By May 2, Titan
Studios, disguised as a furniture outlet, was threatened to be a possible
looting target and was promptly abandoned - all equipment remaining. Long Beach, California, home to the band's
composers, turned to be more dangerous than The initial release in September 1992 focused primarily on
