Initially released in September 1992, Contaminant PCB was the debut album from Contagion. Tracks include: We Believe, Ingest, Who Are You, Scratch, Fight!, Agress, Contagion7.

Side Notes: Contaminant PCB is Contagion's debut release. The disc's original title [Contaminate] and artwork [created by Steven R. Gilmore] were changed less than four weeks before production, due to a threatened legal injunction against the band's original name [Biohazard PCB]. The cover design was modified, however the prominent "PCB" kept its mark, both on the cover and the album's title.

Recording on Contaminant PCB officially began April 27, 1992, days prior to the Los Angeles Riots. Contaminant PCB was contracted by World Domination Records / Capitol Records in 1991 as a 4 song EP. The group, eager to release additional material, included several tracks from older never commercially released recordings. Fight!, written in 1989, was recorded in May 1990 for an unreleased BIOHAZARD PCB record entitled "ISOLATION". INGEST, written in 1990, was initially tracked in 1991 for a limited self release, "INFECTIOUS". [The album mixes feature edits from this recording as well as additional tracks]. CONTAGION7 - an student engineering project - was produced and recorded 1990.
TURN OF THE SCREW
, originally written by the group Low Pop Suicide, was remixed and re-tracked three days prior to mastering.

Recording was interrupted on May 1st, 1992 due to the outbreak of the L.A. riots. By May 2, Titan Studios, disguised as a furniture outlet, was threatened to be a possible looting target and was promptly abandoned - all equipment remaining. Long Beach, California, home to the band's composers, turned to be more dangerous than Burbank, thus recording immediately returned to Titan.

The initial release in September 1992 focused primarily on U.S. territories. A later European version of the record (including many film samples and remixes) was mixed and mastered, however due to distribution issues, the CD was never released.
